Welcome to Foxglove Montessori Nursery and               Foxglove Violet Hill

Foxglove Montessori is an independent nursery school established for over 20 years in the heart of Stowmarket providing a warm and friendly learning setting.

Foxglove Violet Hill was opened in September 2018.  It provides a Montessori nursery with a fantastic outdoor area.

The Montessori Method is an approach to education that enables children to develop in a natural way, by being given the best possible conditions to promote social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.   Our aim is to enable the child to achieve his/her full potential.

We take children aged between 2 and school age and we will accept all Early Years funding; two year old funding, 15 hours and 30 hours three and four year old funding.  Please phone for a chat on 01449 770950 if you would like to find out more.

Thirty hours funding

Foxglove is offering thirty hours funded childcare for 3 and 4 year olds in eligible families.  Please see www.childcarechoices.gov.uk for details and to check if your family is eligible.  Our opening hours have changed too, see Sept 2017 Opening times.

What are we doing this week?

We are using a planning system called 'In the moment planning' this term.  This involves our teachers observing the children, joining in with their play and extending their learning whenever we see a teachable moment.  Each week different children will be chosen as focus children, and teachers will particularly watch for teachable moments with these children.

Ideas to try at home

At Foxglove Nurseries, we believe strongly that parents are the joint educators with us.  In support of this belief, we are now providing you with some simple ideas for you to try at home with your child.   We welcome your comments regarding these ideas and for any new ideas too!

A visit from the firefighters

We had a visit from the firefighters from Stowmarket fire station.  The children were able to squirt the fire hose and pretend to drive the fire engine.  A huge thank you to the fire fighters who answered all our questions and taught us all about what to do if there was a fire at home.

Outing to Piper's Vale Gymanstics Centre

We have had our Christmas outing to Piper's Vale Gymnastics centre.  The children were led by the centre coaches and experienced lots of different gymnastics equipment.  Favourites included the foam pit, fast track and rings.

We had a week of fun activities to raise money for Children in Need.  Lots of spots and we raised some money too!  Thank you to everyone who contributed.
